Default JG's deteriorating qualifying - 08-14-2009 , 09:01 PM

This is becoming ponderous.
Gets himself stuck mid pack again this week in a minefield filled with ticking bombs like Jamie Mac,
Stremme, Robbie Gordon, surrounding him at the start. God I hope it's not going to be a repeat of
the Watkins Glen fiasco. He can't take many more close encounters with the wall.
As he has admitted many times before, he deserves whatever he gets for putting himself in these
highly precarious positions. What the hell kind of late season chase strategy is this? Whatever
secret setups they're testing in preparation for the chase might all be a huge waste if it keeps him
from making the chase at all.

Gordo would really have to imploed to miss the chase. Although one
or 2 more deep
in the 30's could make it tricky. U are correct about JJ and MM in
the $$ dept. I am
sure that Gordo wants to win and make the chase ...but he also has a
big intere$t in
JJ going forward. Bristol will be a key race coming up. Interesting
to say the least

He's hurt from his accidents and back injury besides, the money focus
is on Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin. *Junior is nowhere to be found
and is no facator in anything this year. *Jr. is basically a loser,
seems to be scared to ride on that edge of control and failure of man
vs. machine vs. track. *
Nobody was talking about Junior - did you get confused mid-post?

Well, I must admit, I really thought Jeff would run out of fuel on the last lap and Jr. would easily
pass everyone before the finish since he could go wfo while the front four guys had to back off the
remaining 20 laps.
Jeff's throttle control skills and his talent for stretching fuel mileage has really impressed me
this week. :-)

He's been a pretty good little fuel saver in the past - not to mention
water-saver --remember the spouting radiator? LOL.
