if he's convinced that DEI can't give him that shot, his leaving there
was OK by me. I just can't support Ford tho, regardless of who races
for them.
I recognize and understand your loyalty to both the driver and the marque. Would
expect nothing else.

But, can ya see how/why it'd be such a kick for a Blue Oval fanatic such as me,
*IF* Junior switched to Ford...and excelled with it?!!?

I'd prolly have to modify my sig line to:

Kudos to Junior for recognizing that many of his fans are also Chevy
loyalists. Nice to see he hasn't lost touch with his bread & butter.

Yeah, it's a family thing. Even though I had an uncle that worked at
both Lafayette Ford and part time for the NASCAR team back in the
1960s that they supported (Fred Lorenzen), even he didn't really like
Fords. Drove a Dodge or Oldsmobile the entire time he worked there,
close to 20 years...It's just what kind of family you grow up in I
guess, and mine was Mopar from the dark ages to the mid-1970s and GM
from then to now (with a few Toyotas and German cars thrown in for
good measure).

You also have to consider, I've already been thru this once, when John
Force left Oldsmobile to team up with Ford a few years back. It was a
hard pill to swallow, but I did. I just didn't buy anymore of his
t-shirts...lol

It would be an absolute BOON to the Ford camp IMO. Not that they don't
have some great talent already (Kenseth, Edwards, Biff, even old Wicky
Wudd, etc) but having a "huge" name and big sponsor (assuming Bud
lands in/on the same car as Junior) could only help their efforts,
both on the track and off I imagine.

In the wake of all this, it begs one to wonder about the DEI - RYR
deal now. *Now* that merger actually makes a little more sense to both
teams, as I just couldn't see Junior turning his back on the make that
has supported him from day 1. I know it happens, but you gotta know
Junior and most other "good old NC boys" like him, like me, we're as
loyal as puppy dogs to people that "do right by us". Almost to a fault
sometimes.

IF he lands in a Ford, I won't root against him. I just won't be able
to root for him either...what a quandry. Good thing I've kinda jumped
on Denny Hamlin's bandwagon I guess...he's a good backup plan if
Junior goes over to the Dark Side. ;-)
