Default Kansas results and standings - 10-05-2009 , 11:23 AM

It was a red letter day for the PowerBall Picking Game as Hillary Step
became the first player to win the Defending Champion's Bonus for winning
two races in a row. Hillary Step approached perfection by selecting the
1,2,3,4,7,9 finishers in advance. So 50 bonus points for picking the 1,2,3
finishers and fifty for winning the race and fifty for winning the first
DCB.
IGot2P continues to have a full straightaway lead in the seasonal race while
Hillary Step gained second place and poor old Fish dropped all the way to
fourth with some unworkable pit strategy.

results

Hillary Step 1137+50+50+50=1287
RickyBobby 1086
Carey Akin 1063
IGot2P 1062
Huan 1062
Chad 1020

Cary Akin 27313

Not that anybody cares but the scores of the six drivers are added first.
Then the 1,2,3 bonus points are added to everybody who got them. From that
score the 50 points for having the highest score is added. If that player
won the last race 50 more points are added for Defending Champion's Bonus.

Carey Akin dropped out some races ago because his ISP canned Usenet and he
does not like Google Groups. His scores are being kept because he was one
of the original players and has been doing this for years. The two players
who were dropped were rookies who just one day stopped posting anything.

In 2010 rookies will be on a two race leash and veterans on a season long
pass just to be consistent.

Two races? You would have dropped me this season. You make the rules,
but would you consider a month?

Will I be a veteran next year?

You are a veteran. You only have to pick for Daytona and you are good for
the year. If you want it to be four races for any new players it can be
four races. I kept score for Frankenstein and jst2swt longer than that
before I got tired of it.
Just so you understand my reasoning, it is because if the absent players
happen to win and collect the bonus points it messes up the scoring for the
active players who still follow the game.
One post to rasn per month is a decent standard.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that I said that is was the "single entry game" but
I rethought that at midseason. From now on it is a "one post to rasn per
month" game.

If you think it is easy you go to some other forum and try it for a season.
It ain't that easy to try to be fair to everybody. And I try to be fair. I
ain't trying to be the person who makes the rules. You guys can make the
rules same as me. Just let me know what you think is fair.

Last season somebody said that they hated The Chase. So I now longer put
The Chase in the real scores but keep it separate just for one player. And
the player who hated The Chase is like as not even still around. But I
still try to respect their wishes.

If you guys want to change the game to have two double points drivers and
three single points drivers just let me know and if that is what you want
that is what we will do. We can do pretty much anything that we can agree
on.

No, no, I don't think it's easy. It's nice of you to organize it.
Personally I have few opinions about how it works, it's fine with me if
you make decisions. In fact the opinion I just voiced is my only
opinion.

We will have plenty of time from the last race until Daytona for everybody
to have a say in regards to what they think would be the most fun.

You can have five drivers or seven drivers or one driver with triple points
and one driver with double point or drop the driver with the least points or
anything else you guys think of.

For once I would like to go the entire season without changing the rules or
making judgement calls.

I did throw in the Defending Champion's Bonus for winning consecutive races
but I like that one.

Seven drivers-
First one on the list gets triple points
Second one on the list get double points
Of the other five, worst finisher gets dropped and the other four get
regular points.

It is all good to me and I do not want to be the big ogre who stomps around
and gives everybody else a hard time. I ain't like that.
