... You make it sound as if your comparison is right on the money and the winner of The Best In Your Face Comparison Award. I've said this once and I will say it again. The NASCAR Chase is exactly the same as if you were to stop the leader of a marathon 50 feet before the finish line. |

I don't think he's the most talented by any means, but he has what it takes - a won't lose attitude. |

LOL, no, but it's a valid comparison that kind of kills the arguement against the chase format where people think because someone wins the regular season (first 26 races) that they are entitled to win the chase. |

We shouldn't go here John, because we'll just open up the whole can of worms again, but oh well - what the hell.. I don't see it that way at all. NASCAR has not defined a regular season and a Championship game. They simply picked a spot in the season, reset the points, and then continued the season. No comparison to the other sports at all. I really don't think that any other sport's particular way of running their season and post-season in any way kills the arguments against the Chase. Like I said - this is not football. You can't kill the argument against something racing does, based on what football does. |

I've said this once and I will say it again. The NASCAR Chase is exactly the same as if you were to stop the leader of a marathon 50 feet before the finish line. Then make him stand idle while the other runners catch up. It's not what you do at the end of the race, it's what you do through the entire marathon. Ouch.... |

I guess you failed to consider the concept of a yellow flag/ 8^) No, when I referred to the "race" and "marathon" I meant the entire season as one big race. It shouldn't matter what you do at the end of the season as long as what you did early in the season put you far enough ahead. |
