who can guess the total number of (or closest to) total lead changes for the
500. after seeing todays Twin snoozers i'll guess 23, since there will be
many under green flag pits stops due to the pint size fuel cells.

tie breaker will be # of caution flags...my guess is 10.

Jesus - you are gonna whine all god damn night about the lack of lead
changes in the Twins. Let it go already. Have you ever been diagnosed
with OCD and clinical depression? Seriously.

This particular poster might be obsessing, but for a large part of its
history one of NASCAR's selling points has been that unlike other forms of
racing, there were a lot of lead changes and a lot of passing. They don't
have that anymore, for a variety of reasons, and a lot of old farts like me
thinks that has lessened the product. Maybe today folks don't care and are
satisfied with the way things are now. C'est la vie. And there really is no
sense obsessing about it because there's nothing we as fans can do to change
it.

Following up and repeating what I said in the other thread Jersey Mike
started about this, maybe there weren't a lot of lead changes and wasn't a
lot of excitement because no one really was inclined to bust their a**es or
cars by doing crazy and exciting things on Thursday because (a.)
guaranteeing the top 35 from last year spots in the field means that there
aren't that many spots available in the 500 to be raced into anymore in the
qualifiers and (b.) Sunday pays a lot more money and has a lot bigger
trophy.

Although lead changes may not have been occuring in rapid succession; there
were plenty of position changes. If my favorite driver is in 15th place,
I could give a flying rip what happens in 1st and 2nd. I am concerned about
14th and 16th at that moment. That guy has OCD and I cannot see why
someone with obsessive behaviour would watch NASCAR - it will just drive
them crazy.

IMHO, he is just a whiner. If there were lots of lead changes, he would
have whined about the Anthem or something about the pit speed. Personally,
it was nice to see drivers in cars again. The off season is excruciatingly
painful. It's almost enough to motivate you to buy a hot wheels track for
your livingroom. Thank God for NFL - which was clearly invented to break
up the boredom of the off season. :-)

I'll guess 5 lead changes, but will qualify that by making them on-track
lead changes (read... passes), and not BS lead changes from the pits.
