I would like to rent some of my empty bedrooms to folks that are coming to
watch the NASCAR races here in Concord at the Lowes Motorspeedway.
Can anyone tell me where would be a good place to post this info and some
pics of the rooms so folks that might not be able to get a hotel room can
have an option to stay at my place.

Does NASCAR Scene or any other NASCAR rags have a classified section you
could advertise this in maybe? I don't know, but aside from message boards,
newsgroups, and maybe eBay, some of the industry magazines that host
classified ads for rentals for races may be the way to go. Maybe pick some
specific relatively "local" newspapers to advertise in the vacation rental
sections. In NC alone you could advertise in the big papers in Raleigh,
Fayetteville, Wilmington, etc, and likely draw in home-state people that
want to stay near Concord and not have to commute.
Or, you could do like I do for my rental cabins if you want. Make-up a cheap
website, complete with photos, contact and rental information, and just
advertise that web site. It deals with a lot of the "tire kickers" without
having to tie you up on the phone. Most times, when I get a hit or call off
the website, it is a serious lead, and leads to a rental contract probably
80% of the time. Heck, if you're on Road Runner, I think you may even have
some web space included with your ISP package, and a simple informational
web page can be done quite easily and not cost you a thing. Even so, I have
a basic hosting package with a virtual host provider that costs me $14.95 a
month, has a ton of space and bandwidth, and I host the individual sites for
all 6 of my cabins on there (each home has its own unique "name" and
therefore its own site and URL to make them easy to remember year to year
for returning patrons). I have 5 or 6 interior photos, a front and rear
photo, some details and some contact info on each home's "site", they never
need updating (outside of rental prices) and work hard so I don't have to.
lol
It all really depends on how serious you want to market your space and how
professional you come across will make the difference in the occasional
rental and being booked up every time you want to be. Good luck to ya.
