Default Mayfield... - 05-21-2009 , 03:32 PM

So Nascar says it wasn't Claritin d...ok..so what did Mayfield take?

Why is it so impossible for this sanctioning body to tell us?

If they have right on their side, ..tell us.

There are no "Hippa" violations...tell us.

It's HIPAA. Personal medical information cannot be released unless
the person involved releases it. At least, how I understand it.

Anyway, his lawyer knows what it was/is and is just refusing to say
for the moment.

It's old news, time to move on, it seems to me.

It's against the law.

Only Mayfield can release that info.

mayfield's lawyer was on sirius today and he from the transcript i
read on jayski, he sounded like the typical defense lawyer jerk for a
guilty client. "i can tell you that. I won't" to quote one part. I've
been studying law all through high school, and was at one point aiming
for a career as a lawyer, and from what i know it sounds like he
doesn't quite have his angle down yet as to how he's going to get
jeremy's name cleared yet and so is not wanting to say anything at all
for fear of it biting them in the ass in the future.

So how did we find out what Kevin Grubb took? Nascar told us.
So how did we find out what Manny Ramierez took? MLB told us.

Try again....

Actually, they said the positive test wasn't for Claritin-D,
not that Mayfield didn't take it.

Note that every other sport requires the contestants to waive
that right as part of their agreement to participate. If NASCAR
does not, it would seem they failed to research what's "normal
practice" before setting up their drug testing program.

aaron fike we found out based on his own admission, which thankfully
is what brought in this system we have now, but i feel if nascar
failed to include a clause like all other sports that allows them to
release the results of which substances people take then they have
seriously neglected in their duty. Nearly every week there are crew
members that fail drugs tests, but we never hear what they took
(though one can be usually safe to assume it is a performance
enhancing drug)

It is unusual for it to have not leaked out by now. I have to commend
the Mayfield camp. Keeping it tamped down for this long is quite a
feat.

For one thing... they don't have to.
For another... it's one thing to tell us that there was an OTC product found,
or an illegal drug, but if it's perscription, that would be confidential,
and a breach of medical privacy.

But we all think the world of you.
What gives, AJ?

It does appear though, that the list is comprised of
people that do know the sport however...
and do not have problems dealing with those
that they can learn from, or exchange points of view....

Oh... you forgot Stevie Wonder, Jose Feliciano,
Ronnie Milsap, and Andrea Bocelli..
on your BLIND list...
