Yes It does...Stinks really really bad..I was a fan of McMurry but wont
be anymore. Chip was stupid for letting him go, I mean what a stupid
move. I think having McMurray and Stremme together would've been a
great combination..

I'm a McMurry fan too, but will find it very, very difficult to support him
as long as he is driving for that guy. I wish I could get past that, but I
can't. I've tried with Carl Edwards, who I also like a great deal, but just
can't bring myself to do it. Damn that Jack Roush!!

Would have much rather seen Jamie drive the #2 over the #6.

Oh Well.

except Ganassi hasn't won a race since 2002. and Jamie is ready to win
now. how much longer is it going to take for Ganassi to get its act
together, especially with Sterling and his experience now leaving and
Casey probably gone too?

don't get me wrong: I like Ganassi and I like the Star Car, and a month
ago I would have been very depressed at this news. but after seeing
Chip threaten all of his drivers after the Charlotte race, I hope they
all find better teams.

I'm selfish: I don't want to see Jamie waste any more time in equipment
that can't win. he drives the wheels of his cars every week and every
week it's a struggle to stay in the Chase.

the #2 would have been nice, but Penske is nowhere near Roush this
year. maybe I've sold my soul to the devil, but I'm thrilled Jamie's
going to have this chance. I only wish it would start in 2006 instead
of 2007.

I think you've sold your soul! ;-) Actually, you just sound like your very
dedicated. And, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm sure he will do better
for J. Roush. It's just so bittersweet. I really can't stand that man.

I had my fingers crossed. So, who do you think it will be in that car for
2006?

Both are big time seats, recent years/finishes aside of course (though both
teams/drivers have been doing ok the last little bit). I did think he'd end
up in a Penske South car though, with his ties to Rusty and all. Do we
think, hypotetically speaking of course, that McMurray and Newman could
co-exist? Maybe? Likely? At times during their interviews (film and print)
they both appear to be somewhat 'loners'.

maybe this will mark the rehabilitation of J. Roush in a bunch of
people's eyes (including my own) :-).

Katharine
p.s. Ricky Craven is the most common name in the rumor mill at the
moment to drive the #6 for 2006. as always, salt to taste.

it seemed logical. but with Stremme now in the #40 and DEJr in the #8
it's very likely that Miller wants someone in that car who will be
there right now and for a while so as not to give up a precious year in
the Beer Wars with an interim driver (for there was no way Chip was
going to give up Jamie a year early to his arch-rival Roger Penske).
