Default Mike Wallace with no pit crew. - 08-06-2009 , 02:41 PM

why isnt he suspended for making a mockery of napcar by not even
having a pit crew at pocono.

how come nobody is discussing this!

his owner Lawrence Gunselman needs to be penalized too, kick him out of
the sport if he cant field proper teams!.

Was he sharing someone else's crew? He's a no-talent driver anyway.

The only gripe one could have is if someone who does not make the
field in qualifying i(because of Mike Wallace) is actually prepared to
go the whole distance otherwise who cares.

If a "team" gets outqualified by another team that doesn't even bring
a spare tire, they don't deserve to be in it either....
None of those guys in the back have any intention of running the whole race.

Maybe maybe not it depends on what Mike Wallace did to his car (within
nascar rules of course) to qualify At Pocono you need a lot of power
for that one long straightaway maybe he tuned his engine for extreme
power not caring if the engine would last 10 laps. I'm not saying he
did that but it is possible. But generally speaking you are right
neither deserve to race if they don't even attempt to run the whole
race or are too slow. I think what it comes down to is money maybe the
earnings are enough to place to cover one's operating costs.

Refresh my memory - weren't there only 43 cars on the entry list to
begin with? Something tells me that's one of the reasons the "Oval
Office" turned a blind eye to it.

Or... another way to qualify is to only have 43 guys show up....
then your motor doesn't really matter too much..

It's happened before in fairly recent times.

the 09 owned by James Finch showed up for the swan song at Rockingham (NC)
with Joe Ruttman
as a driver...with no crew..and ran a few laps before parking it.

If I'm not mistaken, that was the event that led to NASCAR
creating a rule requiring a pit crew. Prior to that it was
OK to run without one, something that JD McDuffie did on at
least one occasion (needless to say, his pit stops were not
in the 15 second bracket).
