NASCAR.COM *still* doesn't have the 2006 schedule online. You guys were right. They are losers. I see the jabs the others gave ya, but I know what you meant. There isn't a "finalized" schedule posted yet. Honestly, it's that way every year. They're closing deals daily for race sponsorships and so forth. It is usually quite close to the D500 before everything is set. Some years, late year races still won't have sponsors or "names" of races until after the D500 even. So don't fret, too much, this is typical of NASCAR. I would have thought that this stuff would have been finalized by now. Usually people want a long lead time for promotional preperation. You know. Like a magazine this month is working on the April issue. Oh well, that is the way it is. :-) -- Paul of El Cajon |

What he didn't add was that NBC doesn't put out their times of races until shortly before they begin their half of the telecast schedule. NBC doesn't even decide if a race will be shown on NBC or TNT until this 'late' date. Paul, to satisfy your FAQs, u must remember--This is NA$CAr, NOT NFL or MLB! NA$CAr is different! I sure hope that u r taking notes so as not to repeat all yore wonderful Newbie questions for '07. RASNers have a history of little patience. I think it's pretty kewl that the current RASNers have had patience by answering yore faqs so honestly. BUT there is going to come a time, probably pretty soon, that yore newbie questions will get answers that u won't like. IOW, ask fast! ![]() CRU |

I've already had to KF a couple of regulars who've changed their handles and creeped out of my "do not display" list since Christmas. And I did forget to mention NBC's habit of not releasing their schedule real early, for as Cru says here, they don't know "which" network is going to air it until late in the process. That schedule has been on the site since a week or so after the last race of last year. :-) LOL... well, I was kinda lax on 'splaining the whole incomplete schedule thing.... as you have already found out, it's not really as much an issue with nascar.com as it is with NASCAR itself. They are still in the process of selling out to the highest bidders.... I mean, finding race sponsors. I wouldn't say that nascar.com are losers. I think they just stick to the very basics.... I look at them more like NASCAR's mouthpiece. I would follow the advice of the others and bookmark some of the websites (racing-reference.com is probably my most frequented). Was tvracer.com mentioned as a great one to find out what's on and where to find it? .... maybe not jayski's though ~ IMO, it's like the Enquirer of racing..... well, maybe not that bad, as most of the information does turn out to be true, but sometimes it's just flat out wrong ~ and ya never know when it's gonna be one of those times. |
