Default NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte? - 03-01-2006 , 09:43 PM

I mean give me a break. I understand that some of the drivers live in NC but
if NASCAR wants to continue to expand the sport nationally, and
internationally, the HOF should be in a city with a track that has
international appeal, like Texas or California. Do they think it's real
convenient to get to Greensboro regional airport from anywhere in the U.S.,
let alone internationally? Even KC or Daytona would be better choices. Or
better yet, why not put it in Darlington, a real megalopolis that has
international appeal. What a bunch of bozos. They were smart enough to start
closing the backwater tracks in the southeast and expanding elsewhere, but
apparently are still stuck with the ghosts of the past in this regard.

Why not give us a break, idiot? Texas and California are the two most
boring tracks on the circuit. Charlotte is the hub of the sport. Would you
consider moving the NFL HOF from Canton to San Francisco because the Niners
are 5-0 in the Super Bowl? Oh, excuse me - look who I am trying to reason
with. Sorry, folks - this moron's killfile expired. I just renewed it.

DEAR SIR, CHARLOTTE has one of the biggest airports in the South.
CHARLOTTE,
not Greensboro, and direct flights come in from all over the country.

Even KC or Daytona would be better choices. Or

International appeal doesn't mean squat to HoF placement.

Baseball - Cooperstown, NY
Football - Canton, OH
Golf - St. Augustine, FL

In my view, international appeal should have nothing to do with domestic
activities.

I couldn't agree more. I think all three of those Halls are in the right
places. NASCAR's Hall in Charlotte is a perfect fit.

I've always wondered why the Motorsports Hall of Fame is in Alabama...

It was the brainchild of Bill France, Sr.
The Governor of Alabama played a key role in establishing it in his state.
