I'm living in SoCal right now, but I grew up on Long Island, in New York.
I grew up listening to Country, watching the WWF and tuning into NASCAR
since the 80's. And I'm Chinese.
Long Island? I went to college up there.
I grew up in East Northport. Not many folks know much about Long Island,
and are really surprised that it is essentially half high tech and half
farming. I spent many a summer-fall time frame on a farm, cropping in
wheat, working horses, and growing fruit orchards.

I went to the Pocono Races all the time as a kid, easy drive from home
to the track. The actual first time that I was behind the wheel of a
car, on someone's lap as a tyke, was with Mario Andretti at Pocono.

Hi consul, is Pocono too big to be 'fun' to watch live? That's what a few
of my friends say about it here in Ohio. Do they have decent, level RV
sites there?

I haven't been back in about 10 years, so I don't know if they changed
anything since then. And I always took the train and then my friends
would take me to the track with them. My parents are not into NASCAR,
I'm the black sheep of the family. As for the fun aspect, as a teenager,
any seat was fun for me, though I do recall that we had pretty good
seats to see most of the race.

Black sheep have the most fun.

At any rate I was considering going there with my travel trailer in tow
(about an eight hour or less pull) but I'm not so sure if I'll really like
it once I get up in the grandstand. I'm partial to short track racing live.

Exactly. I went to college at Kings Point. Long Island anything like I
expected.

Okay, there is a story there, I can tell. Was your family friends with the
Andrettis?
