You're going to break a bone stretching your argument like that. There is approximately 30 seconds between plays in football, and the announcers/producers are constantly researching and developing new stuff to talk about to fill the gaps and keep things interesting after an incomplete pass or a boring one yard run. In baseball, they have A HUGE amount of time between pitches to fill with miscellaneous tidbits, history, and facts. They don't have the downtime... LOL Vintage RASN. |

And???? and, it meands NASCAR is losing fans, which means they will do even more twiddling with the rules to make it "more appealing" to the masses. I find it's become near unwatchable with the clown announcers and the fact they act like the audience has never seen a race before. they take for granted the old time fans like me and keep trying to get everybody. they've eliminated all real racing and instead instututed phoney "close racing" by handicapping the teams ability to innovate. So there are no new viewers? do baseball or football broacasts explain everything every game?. if NA$CAR did football Rusty "the Cowgirls have a new first down, what that means is they movedthe ball forward at least ten yards and they now have four more downs", DW" a down is a play run while trying to get another first down, which gives them four more plays". Jarrett "A first down gives the team a new set of four downs" Alan B"lets send it to Jerry with the cutaway field to explain what a down is" Jerry, "This ovoid shape is known as a football, the team on offense controls the ball, and if you look at the cutaway..." They don't have the "down" time that you have in NASCAR. Why don't just turn the volume down if it bothers you so much seem you don't seem to have the ability to block out what you don't wanna hear?- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - |

For the second straight week, NASCAR ratings dropped on ABC. Sunday's AAA 400 drew a mere 2.7 overnight rating on ABC, down 13% from a 3.1 last year, and down 18% from a 3.3 in '07. The 2.7 is the second-lowest overnight for a Chase for the Cup race on broadcast, ahead of only a 2.5 for last week's Sylvania 300. All three NASCAR races on ABC this season have had a double-digit decline in overnight ratings*. The 2.7 overnight is the lowest ever for the AAA 400 on broadcast television (2001, 2003, 2007-09). * The Chevy Rock & Roll 400 was down 27% compared to the '07 race; the '08 race was postponed due to rain and aired on ESPN. Big deal. *Is this really that important to you? You start a post then.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - |
