Default New Rules - 06-13-2004 , 04:19 PM

I do believe I liked racing more before they had to explain every caution
out, so we know what the heck is going on.

They should only allow green flag pit stops. Keep the pits closed for
two laps after they go green too so that people aren't pitting while
the cars aren't up to speed yet.

1. V6 engine.
They did try it, and it sucked.
The sound was horrible, the cost was ridiculous, there was nothing
but millions wasted... it actually drove some out of the sport.

1. V6 engine.
2. Retain current aspirated carburation.
3. 22 gal fuel cell.
4. Standardized body like currently.
5. Let teams modify standardized body nose and rear end.
6. Let teams engineer all other aspects not mentioned in 1-5 above.

I think NASCAR wasted huge amounts of money and time on the COT.
just run stock v8,4door,sedans, with the muffler cut off.

Well that, with your proposed V6, pretty much guarantees no green flag pit
stops

Well, that's mostly because they decided to use a truck engine.
I think if you started with a modern passenger car V6 design,
of perhaps 3l or 3.5l, it would work well.

But John, my friend...
every point I wrote would still be valid....
They would still sound horrible and obnoxious
The R&D would be ridiculous
The end product would be much more expensive
And it would drive some out....

To gain what?
I'm not opposed to changing things when they need to be changed.
but right now, the current motors are the cheapest they are going to get.
The last thing they need right now, is to introduce an entirely
new element to the sport.

Weren't they using Buicks as well?

There's usually a variety of outdoor rock concerts scattered around the
nation during the summer season, if that's what you're looking for
