I understand what you are saying, but most of the noobs you are
referring to in here either learn as time passes or get tired of being
ignored or slapped around.
I was a newb in here at one time as well.
I just don't feel as if I have to leave because of another's lack of
knowledge.
I sincerely miss most, if not all who left ~even the assholes...
And there are times when I ask myself why I participate here, but
there are far more times when I know why I stick around.
The quality of the content goes up and down from time to time, but as
a whole, it has remained relatively worthwhile to read in the 11 yrs
I've been around.
You do have your 25 incarnations of farva, your daniels, your
electricians, your C H A M I O N S H I P haters, but you also have
Cru, Akin, Sim, Marlow, pit, WW, Julia, Nancy, jersey mike, Kircher,
RZ, J Mc, ect to offset the less-than-desirable.
Even today, there are far more reasons to stick around here than to
leave IMO.

I think you put me in the wrong group. . . . .

I didn't realize it took so many to offset me...

Hammer, I have always been intrigued by your intellect, it has been your
delivery at times that has put me off.
While I am impressed with the new leaf you have recently turned over,
with all due respect, I'd quite honestly prefer the person who is in the
middle of your two extremes, because I know he is there.
Hep me out here. Is it Michael E. or SpeedRacer who made this
middle of the road statement to Hammer? or not?
Yeah, he was talking to me. At least I hope so.

Cru, I do believe that they are one in the same (or is that "and the
same").
Oh, I misread. [Been messin' with my screen settings - they're out of

lol Nice dissertation. Short version: RASN is simply a reflection, a
microcosm if you will, of the world in general when enough random populous
is included in the sample. You get good folks, bad folks, indifferent folks,
folks of all types.

The problem has begun to come down to some people's inability to disagree
without serious flaming, or at the very least, personal insults. In life,
and in USENET. You're either laid back or a hater, sadly, with very little
in-between anymore. Case and point, you and I disagreed a few weeks ago
(bleeder-rim gate), and suddenly, I was an asshole. You couldn't take my
firm assertions on the subject as anything but an insult, and reacted
accordingly I assume. Like I said, welcome to life in general anymore.

I had no problem with the evidence you used to back your assertion, my
problem was more with your condescending delivery of that evidence.
It is not necessary to belittle a person to get your point across.
Saying things like "having to talk down to your audience" really isn't
information necessary to further along the debate, it can only be used as a
tool to deride.
That was my problem with you, that was the cause of my a-hole comment.
I care not to reignite an argument, I just felt the need to clarify my
position.

I won't dispute that.
I also lay claim to the fact that I have been an aggressive participant in
many flame wars around here.
I'm not proud of this, I guess I am just too easily offended.
One unfortunate aspect of conversing in this type of forum is that it is
rather easy to misinterpret the actual intentions in the thoughts (and
words) of another poster.

I like yore new handle.
Liberal use of emoticons sometimes results in
understanding another's written words,
but this is not a rule in RASN as u know
