Default open wheel pukes suck at NASCAR - 02-26-2007 , 02:17 AM

If you took the best part of Yeley, Almindinger, Hornisch, and Montoya you
could still not make a pimple of Kevin Harvick's behind when it comes to
driving in NASCAR.

I told y'all this before those worthless pukes even showed up. Maybe now you
will listen.

I think it depends on what kind of open wheel driver you are considering.
There is no doubt about the abilities of drivers like Tony Stewart, Jeff
Gordon, Kasey Kahne, Ken Schrader, Ryan Newman and a few others that began
their careers in open wheel oval cars. Yeley will probably come along in
time, but I also understand that there are other issues as far as JJ is
concerned.

The issue with Yeley is one of talent. He's in way over his head and
not in the same league as the other open-wheel refugees, definitely not
in the same league as JPM.

Those other current drivers you noted did NOT have instant success. It
took them a while before they became successful.

I think from that list of names (Tony Stewart, Jeff
Quote:
Gordon, Kasey Kahne, Ken Schrader, Ryan Newman and a few others )
your definition of "open wheel driver" is too broad. From that list,
I don't remember anyone but Tony driving in the IRL. Montoya,
Hornish, Almindinger and maybe Yeley have.

What kind of "open wheel" are you saying Gordon and Newman drove in?

Gordon drove open wheel midget cars prior to becoming the queen of the
Hendricks stable. Gordon was featured alot, back in the old days of
ESPN's/Dave Despain's "Thursday night thunder".

Tony, of course-IRL.

I would expect that Yeley will come along faster than JPM. And you are
right, I wouldn't consider JJ to be in the same league as JPM. JPM would
need some more experience to come up to par. And no, I am not being
sarcastic. Montoya's experience is much more limited than Yeley's.

Oh, how do you mean? I am certainly talking open wheel. In fact, Newman
had quite a successful run in open wheel, as have the others mentioned
above. Probably the one with the fewest championships would be Kahne, but
the Ford develpment program he was in moved him around in different series.

You really don't know? There is other racing besides NASCAR, and most is
quite a bit better. It just doesn't pay the drivers as well.

Go to www.usacracing.com and become enlightened.

Uh, Tony, like Gordon was a multi USAC champion in midgets, sprints and
champ cars. His turn in the newly formed IRL was actually a last minute
diversion on his way to NASCAR.

Hoe did Yeley do in F1? How many Indy 500s did Yeley win? How many
years experience has Yeley had in major league racing?
