There was a horrific wreck at Homestead this morning during final practice. ESPN showed it right before the Rutgers-Tennessee game. One car hit the wall, and spotters were telling their drivers to go low, but the car slid down the track and was hit by another car going full speed. Ed Carpenter and Paul Dana are in critical condition. Jerry said the news was delayed because they were trying to locate Paul Dana's wife who was at home in Indiana. I think it was one of the more horrifying wrecks I've ever seen. My prayers go out to the drivers and their family and crew. kimberly |

Not trying to nitpick the tragedy, but what happened with Carpenter hitting Dana a good 2-3 seconds after Dana had come to rest on the track? No spotters? Reminded me a bit of the tragic ARCA accident (Eric Martin & Deb Renshaw) a couple of years back at Charlotte. |

How many more will it take to get Carpenter, his team and owner, and all associated with Vision Racing out of auto racing all together. Its been over 10 years that they have been the ruination of open wheel. |
