None of us actually saw where the caution came out and who was
actually in front. I expect they don't have any film on that. We have
scorers (nascar officials on the track) and the scoring monitors
spaced all over the track. The fact that on that one replay showed he
was leading when the caution flag was waving at that time doesn't
prove he was leading when the caution came out.

The replay showed the pass and the caution flag after the camera switch he
was in the lead when caution came out...
He made the pass within 2 1/2 seconds after the crash NASCAR did not have
time to call a yellow in 2 1/2 seconds...
Go back and watch your replays I did on my DVR it is the 3rd replay of this
crash...

If you watch the replay of the 1st incedent, you will see Robby clearly
behind Marcus (albeit running into the back of him!) and the network feed is
showing a caution light.. Does the network or NASCAR put out the cautions?

If I may offer a tiebreaker, the camera shot jumped over to catch RG
just completing the pass "12" seconds after the wreck was in
progress. In the very first frame of that shot, RG had not yet
cleared the #59; still had all of his left quarterpanel to go.
Marcus' nose was up to RG's rear axle.

At 9 seconds into the wreck, the TV broadcast indicated NASCAR threw
the caution. Seems like there would be at least a 2 second delay in
relaying that info onto the screen.

Perhaps NASCAR did make the right call. Is it possible for Robby
Gordon to be impatient, too aggressive, on a road course and not
realize the caution came out?
