for the new rule either, but I'd rather have a bullshit rule in

Oh cry me a river!!!

And you can suck my left nut asshole. You were probably one of those
fuckwads that laughed when they announced DE was killed. IF you've
even been following the sport that long.

Geez Dark, let it go man, we really don't need to escalate these to
this name calling and putting each other down.
Well right now I'm not in a very tolerant mood. I've had to take my wife to
the ER 3 times in the last 5 days, so suffice it to say I am not a happy
person at this point. Meanwhile, this dipshit thinks it's better for someone
to get killed, than to have a rule to try and prevent it even if it does
suck. So if anyone's delicate sensibilities have been offended, well that's
too bad. I'll be nice when my wife gets better.

fear no evil. 'Cuz I'm the meanest motherf*cker in the valley!

actually sad sap....i'm a fan of DE always was. so get over it, nice try
though, get someone else to play w/ your nuts. DE dies racing, as much as
it hurt to see him gone he died RACING and that is no tragedy. if he died
in a plane crash or working his farm then it might have been, but as the
saying went that day and still does...."THAT'S RACING!!!"

mike...........

so cry me a river abouit how unsafe it is to race........

heard
the interview with DJ and he said he had started to unbuckle and saw the
traffic coming, buckled up quick and tried to hold on. These guys all
think they can drive through/around anything. I have a lot of
appreciation
for what they do and the talent it takes to race at this level. On the
other hand, they don't seem to give any quarter to each other and that is
why we have this new rule.

you make it sound like the 88 was sitting there in the racing line and right
in the corner. man get over it people and stay off the bumpercars, you
might get whiplash.

I am judging by the way the 41 car had to dive down out of his line and onto
the apron, yeah, pretty damn close to the corner.

then he's the one that should be brought into the trailer and spoken to and
make sure the point is straight and clear so it doesn't happen again. when
things like that happen and it's on tape it should be reviewed by safety
officals and brought up immediatly in a post race safety meeting or make the
point very clear first thing friday of the next race. that's where safety
officals should get more involved. if a driver is spoken to about a
specific incident on the track and he does it again then there should be a
level of "punishment" for that driver and his team for not using their
heads.

Well dipshit, you must not be much of a fan. Sounds like you're the type
that watches just to see the wrecks, and if you're VERY lucky, someone
gets
seriously injured or killed.
i see your well versed in the name calling dept. that's good. if you
didn't know wrecks are part of the sport, always were, always will be. it's
part of the thrill ofr some and for others it's a main draw, but not for me,
sorry. i watch for the race, not to see guys given a lap back.

YES, racing is a dangerous business, unless you're one of those that
listens
to Brooke's comments. However, you don't go out of your way to make it any
MORE dangerous than it already is. Tell ya what skippy, let's strap YOUR
ass
in a car, put you in the middle of the track, and send about 20 cars
hurtling towards you at 150+ mph.
by instituting this rule we're not going outta the way to make it more
dangerous, we're leaving the danger level where it has been for 50 years,
and for 50 years there has been no problems.
if you wanna pay to put me in a car on a track, fine i'm all for it. i
don't scare easily, never did, never will. but if you such a tough guy w/ a
big mouth...why don't you get in the same car, better yet why don't you
driver one of the other cars, if you can.
Quote:
Or better yet, by YOUR thinking why don't we just take away the HANS
device,
and seat belts. Hey racing in a dangerous business right? We should take
away the in car extinguishers, and helmets, because hey, racing is a
dangerous business right? Hell, while were at it, why don't we take away
the
bullet proof vests that the police wear, because hell, being a cop is a
dangerous business. We can take away the ejction seats and armor on our
military aircraft because hell, flying combat is a dangerous business.
now you're just going a bit overboard here....head and neck restraints are
ok but i believe it's been proven that one wouldn't have saved DE..the car
extinguishers are ok to have in the cars but they didn't seem to work for
the 88 or the 21 this year and there was another fire they couldn't put out
either. the helmet should be driver choice between open and fullfaced.
personally i think the full faced restricts the peripheral vision of a
driver.

as for bullet proof vests for cops, who cares, no one told them to be cops,
it they want a vest go out and buy one for yourself. as for ejection seats
and armor on aircraft, it's a fighting weapon, it belongs there. i was all
for the roof flaps and the4 cowl flaps they installed on the cars to keep
them from getting airborn and i think there is room on the rear deck for
somemore if an engineer can fin the right place for them.

if NASCAR is so concerned about safety, where's the CO filters for drivers.
more drivers have been cared for because of CO poisoning than have been
injured by racing back to the yellow. why has it taked all these years to
get a roof hatch in the cars? do you think engineers have been too stupid
to figure that one out until a few weeks ago??

racing back to the yellow is very simple and can be done recklessly or
professionally, it's up to the drivers to make that decision as well as the
safety officals.

Quote:
So why don't YOU cry us a river, because now you have less of a chance to
see someone get killed or seriously injured.
get real with that stuff, it's old. the more people say it's not safe the
more it makes me realize these people can't be fans who have been watching
the same show for 20 or 30 years. it's part of the show. alway was.
NASCAR had always prided itself on being different fromn other forms of auto
racing. we bump, we rub, we race back to the yellow. THAT'S NASCAR
RACING!!!

Then you better watch again, 'cause I'm pretty sure the 41 dove back to the
outside of DJ... not onto the apron.

And, had they actually been "racing" back to the line, the 41 wouldn't have
even been in that position...
