Google Groups now has a CAPTCHA in place. There has been a huge
reduction in spam over the last couple of weeks.

And I have to use Google, for when <<<cough>>> work <<<cough>>> I'm not
supposed to be on Usenet <G>

Hummm...guess I'll do a check without the filter over in my 'trial group',
rec.motorcycles...when I was first using the filter there, it was snagging
about half the total list posted (ie - Outlook Express would pop up saying
150 new and only 75 would survive).

Results:

Initially - OE listed 393 new posts
After filtering, but 124 posts were left
Of those filtered, 79 failed by cross-posted to more than 3 groups
and there were 72 that failed with 'googlegroups' in the Message ID.

Dunno a thing about CAPTCHA, but I'm leaving my NewsProxy in service.

Took a peek at this group in Google Groups. Still appears to be
