I hate the "what if" crowd. They're the ones who always warn you not to run
with scissors, that you can put an eye out with a BB gun, etc. Prophets of
doom they are. But really - if you're going to cut a tire down, it's much
better to do so with the car right up against the wall than with it a half a
track away. The impact with the wall is near trivial that way.

Oh, give the girl a break. Everybody isn't into thrill rides. I've been on
one roller coaster in my life, a girl I was dating at the time talked me
into it, and I will never do it again because I'm simply not into doing
things like that for fun. Anyone who's into doing things like that for fun,
more power to you and I wouldn't think of doing anything to hinder you from
it. Just don't ridicule us folks who aren't.

Also, I once had a chance to ride in a Cup car at Talladega. Ken Schrader
was giving media people rides when he was driving Junie Donlavey's car
sponsored by Red Baron. I said "no thanks" and have never regretted it an
iota.

I like watching racing and being around racing. I don't have any desire to
be in a race car.

fastest coaster in the world at the time, & couldn't get back on it fast
