I do not understand why that NBC purchased rights to the 2nd half of
the Nascar season. This is the 2nd week in a row that TNT has carried
the race. I checked over on NBC to see what was on and they had
Tennis? Is tennis that big of a draw that Nascar gets bumped to TNT?
Is this something in the contract where TNT carries certain races? I
was just wondering.

As near as we can tell, it was on 7/25/2005 8:26 AM when
shark265 (AT) bright (DOT) net transmitted as follows:

their races on FX. ALl depends on sponsors, pre-existing contracts,
etc. NBC gets the 2nd half of the season becuase Fox carries f'ball.

Don't think of it as "why not NBC?" think that it is a big,
whopping event on TNT. It's promoting growth of -that- channel,
and that's an important thing to the ownership of both nets,
which has some common ground, I believe.
