Default Question for the group-NASCAR Post Cards-How To Sell? - 01-15-2006 , 06:14 PM

Hello-

I have a question-
I have a ton (well over 200 and alot of duplicates) of mostly early 90's
post cards, from when I was attending Martinsville races on a regular bases.

I'm starting my spring cleaning early and trying to move alot of older
NASCAR collectibles, and I'm wondering if it's better to put the post cards
on ebay and pay the stiff fees, or sell them as a group.

Included are some of the early Earnhardt championship cards, Gordon cards,
Labonte slim Jim cards, just to name a few. If anyone here is interested or
can provide some input-please drop me a line.

thanks in advance-

In other words since you got them for free , you dont want ebay to cut into
your profit. Are you one of those dickheads that took a half inch stack from
each trailor so other people couldnt get any?. But to answer your question,
This group is not for selling your crap.

Go Jeff Burton!!

First of all, you don't have to be a rude Gordon fan, when asking a simple
question. And yes; some people in here may be interested-and three;
obviously you can't read, as I posted no contact information!

Many of the trailers back in the early 90's, you had to ask for the cards,
getting only 1 or 2. You didn't just "walk up and grab a stack". Many of the
folks here can tell you that. And at the bigger names like Earnhardt and
Gordon-You had to purchase 35$, 100% cotton T-shirt that shrunk the first
time, just to get a post card. They used to have signs on the trailer, that
said "post card with a purchase".

And whether or not you realize it-these cards do gain value over the years,
and have been posted from time to time in various price guides. The post
cards where the only cards you could get of you favortie driver, prior to
the mass produced press pass and maxx baseball size cards.

I commend your civility. I doubt that I could have shown as much restraint
in the face of such stupidity.

That's true for the most part. The only time I've ever even seen an
opportunity to "get more than one" post card, was in a suite at Rockingham
one time, that was the Alltel Suite, and of course, there were stacks of
Ryan Newman cards there for the taking. There were certainly more stacked up
on the table than there was even room for people in the suite. Probably 150+
cards and the suite held only about 40-50 people.

My most prized "post cards" would have to be both of Junior's from his NBS
title years (I managed to find some with autographs), and of course, Dale
Senior's from 2001. I guess they were only available for a short time,
because I also have some (2) of Harvick's from 2001 as well, that I got from
a local Chevy dealer appearance here in Raleigh later that season.

pe2 is 'one of our own RASNers' & as such, has privileges such as
not being piled upon by non-regulars of RASN. When will they ever learn?
