Default Racing to line - 09-20-2003 , 12:01 AM

I support racing to caution, it should be continued to make the sport more
exciting. There have been races won by drivers getting laps back racing to
the line under caution. If something happens as a result, it is the price
of the sport, I accept that and so should the drivers. I expect to see
competition at all costs when I go to a race.

Winston Cup, BGn and CTS are about the ONLY series that races back to the
line.

It's about time NASCAR ended it.

The way it is now, they're not even "racing" back to the caution. Letting
lapped cars go by running about 50 MPH faster is far from racing. It's just
a free handout.

we are talking about some of the best drivers in the world. there is nothing
wrong with having the LEADER of the race to decide to run the lapped cars back
to the flag or not. that is the rights earned by the leader. when we allow the
modern driver to totally disreguard the history and traditions of the sport and
act like immature jerks. then we begin the decline of the sport. there is no
reason with the modern communication equipment we have today that the leader
cannot run lapped cars back to the line in a safe manner. the second place
driver on back should start acting like mature gentlemen and back off unless
there is a chance in their eyes that the race will not restart and the race to
the line will be the race for the win. wait till talledega and when the leader
takes the white flag and a car way in the back spins. the yellow is displayed
and if there is no racing back to the flag then the race is over there and no
one can pass. what if my teammate is leading with a couple of laps to go. i
cutoff my engine and coast to a stop. no passing so my teammate wins. stupid
rule change.

Who the hell cares what other series do?
