The cahse concept ain't all that bad (oh yes .... I know, I know ... and
here we go - again), BUT: I must admit - Mark Martin being seeded ahead of
Tony IS complete and utter bullshit. NASCAR is saying in one breath that IF
you make the cahse, wins are omni-important. But if you have multiuple wins
and are 13th or worse, .. then 'consistency' is the flavor of the 'criteria
moment'. All NASCAR needs to do is reward the winner (or top 3, or top 5)
far more handsomely.

No, no, no ............ please - NOT COMPLICATED !!!! When you request
complicated, and put it in the hands of NASCAR, .. failure awaits !

I don't get why a difference of 30 or 40 points is considered HUGE by
the sportswriters (beginning of the chase). That's nothing to worry
about over the course of a race or two. If anything, it might be a
mental hiccup for the driver or team, but nothing more. I don't see
wins being a big advantage for any of the chasers, except in the
mindset ....

Agreed. To put it into perspective, Biffle (the last/lowest seed) could win
the 1st case race, Mark Martin (the top seed) could finish 5th, and the biff
could leave chase_race_#1 with the Championship lead. The whole 'seeding'
thing is nonsense.
