Yep. It's just not fun to watch anymore. It hasn't been fun for a while, and
I don't see anything changing that anytime soon.

Quite frankly, I blame the TeeVee coverage. Too much focus on marquee
drivers, too many cameras, too many gimmicks, and too many talking heads.

Yep. It's just not fun to watch anymore. It hasn't been fun for a while, and

Quite frankly, I blame the TeeVee coverage. Too much focus on marquee
drivers, too many cameras, too many gimmicks, and too many talking heads.

Compare the modern stuff with one of ESPN's shows from the 80s or
early 90s. None of the fancy graphics, only a few cameras plus maybe
1 or 2 in cars. Bob Benny and Ned in the booth. Oh what a difference
a decade or two makes.

I blame boneheaded decisions, like adding 'Dega to the post-season. A
race where drivers are limited by their tools (restrictor plates) and
the race outcome is generally out of their control. Talledega is a
nice novelty, but unless the find some way to get rid of the plates it
doesn't belong as a points race, much less one in the post-season.
