Kyle Busch deserves a spot in the chase. well, Tony shouldn't have a 300 point lead stripped away either, it is what it is Most number of wins in season should carry some weight. The point is, the current system NASCAR uses is not a correct method. I suggest NASCAR use a complicated and bogus formula for scoring like the BCS system used by the NCAA, now that should work. |

Winners of over 30% of this year's races haven't made the chase. (5 drivers, 9 races) But it's a good thing really, as it's only happening because so many teams are competitive. With Petty/Yates and MWR probably running even stronger, I wouldn't be surprised to see even more than 5 race winners missing out next year. But when it is all said and done at the end of the year, is the NASCAR champion really the best driver or the true champion. I don't think so.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - |

In article Tim Shelton <noemail1543 (AT) yahoo (DOT) com> wrote: ....... at the end of the year, is the NASCAR champion really the best driver or the true champion. I don't think so. Is the winner of the Super Bowl always the best team? Is the winner of the World Series always the best team? In each person's own mind, they know who "their" champion is, and that may or may not be the champion in the respective sport... While I would not be quick to crown Kyle "champion", I know that he had a better season than a lot of the guys in the chase. So I know, where "I" rank him, and it doesn't matter where others, or NASCAR rank him. |

To some... I don't argue that Vickers made the chase and Kyle didn't. Brian should be in it, based on what the organization says you should do to make it, with the current point system. I just think that Kyle had a better season. Regardless of what others regard as a good season. To me, making the chase is 'part' of having a good season, and not 'the' determining factor. |
