No arguing these points, but to be fair, we don't know that NASCAR "isn't" pondering these questions either.... |

They may be a lot of things to a lot of people, but stupid they aren't... And we don't know what they are actually doing. They don't have to tell us their day to day stuff. But because they don't... doesn't mean they don't have meetings... |

The fence was designed by engineers who know how heavy the car is and how fast it is going. That is precisely why the car has not got through the fence. Give it break already. |

Talladega does not need to redesign the fence, but it does need to move the seats back to at least 30' from the fence. |

I actually agree with you there. *Trying to design a fence for all eventualities is a fools errand. The two sensible approaches are prevention and mitigation. *Moving the seats back is a reasonable solution, as far as mitigation goes. Slowing the cars, whether by changing the car or the track, is a path to prevention. |

IMO like TS02_05champ suggested take off the silly looking wing and spoiler, then open a big hole in the front. Far cheaper than changing tracks, and easier to reverse if it does not work out. |
