Given what appears to be a contradicting array of stories involving Jeremy Mayfield, NASCAR, Mayfield's past family relations, maybe this guy really is telling the truth. For a guy to go to such lengths to clear his name, reinstate his innocence for drug use or abuse, there must be some merit to his efforts. *There really is nothing that definitely states he is a drug user or really did violate NASCAR drug use policy. *NASCAR apparently is using only a NASCAR affiliated laboratory, and some apparent abnormal program and collection methods, like showing up at Mayfield's home. A family member stating she knows and has witnessed JM using drugs does not seem to hold much credibility, especially given the circumstances of that relationship from a previous marriage to JM's father that apparently was not homogenous with the rest of the family. I guess the only thing to do is wait for this all to play out in court, and it will. *If NASCAR is found to be in error for its behavour and this stepmother is found to have lied, then JM won't have to qualify to race another day. *NASCAR may just have to get the checkbook out and write out a large payment to JM. *It would be helpful if JM could submit a sample to a nationally known drug screening lab and have his B sample submitted to another lab and then maybe have a C sample submitted to NASCAR's lab. *That might go a long way toward clearing his name. * I have doubts again whether JM is guilty, even though I reacted to the news release of the other day. *There is just too much drama going on with this story to really come to any armchair conclusion. Again, I will give JM the benefit of doubt until proven otherwise in a court of law or other established proceeding. * * |

The only way it could happen would be under court order and with court supervision. John this much is known |
