You do raise an interesting point. Now, I don't really pay attention to
race, but that is probably because of the way I was raised. This past
summer, I took my girlfriend up to Indiana for some sprint car racing on our
vacation. She is a Pacific Islander, so she tends to pay more attention to
such things than I do. After our first night at Bloomington, on the way
back to the car, she mentioned to me that she had never seen such an "all
white" group of folks all together in her life. Me, I never realized it.
That said, I still find the commercials offensive. It is like saying that
all blacks can only have black heroes, and the same for each race. If there
was ever an example of pure racism, that is it.
