| Considering that Tracy wants to make the move to Nascar, I thought his participation in this race was a waste of time. If he wanted to run only 7 races to preserve his rookie status, he should have stuck with ovals, where any experience he would have gotten would have been far more valuable. I really don't think Paul cares too much about rookie status. He is running these races to get a taste of what its like before he starts his real job. His real job pays much better than a large percentage of the Nascar field, but not top drivers. What I do think he likely sees is that a Cup drivers career is much longer than an open wheel career. I suspect he sees stock cars as a career extender. Any experience would be valuable. In April the Champ Car season kicks off and he will be too busy to do many if any more races once the season starts. |
