Unfortunately, it costs so much to outbid everybody else for the
rights (especially to the chase races) that nobody can afford to hire
decent announcers. (Well, that and what Fox spent on those "Digger"
animations.)

The only thing the non-diehards care about now is football.

All of the other sports have Playoffs to determine a champion, so why
shouldn't NASCAR? Plus they do need something to compete with baseball,
football, and hockey at this time of year.

Fine, then should only be 12 cars on the track.

Btw, hockey? Please.

Why?
No other teams play more than one team at a time.
Their playoffs are consitent with the way the whole season is
played.
Same rules.

NASCAR has their playoffs consistent with the way their season is
played.
43 in a race..
Same rules.

They can start having 12 in a race,
when basketball has 6 teams on the court.

The term "playoffs" isn't very appropriate for Nascar. It seems to instill a
need to draw parallels to other sports that use a true playoff system. Given
the choice, I prefer the term "postseason" instead.

That's fine.
Actually I wouldn't apply any name to it.
The season, for me, starts in February, and ends in November.
