Hi! Its Daytona 500 time and as with all the other years I am reminded
that I still have one last thing to take care of for John (he wanted
some of his ashes sprinkled at the Daytona 500). Unlike other years
though when I am wondering how I am going to do this, this year I
actually have friends going who have agreed to take John with them, and
take care of this for me since I can't go with them (and who knows if
I'll ever get there).

Anyway, it got me wondering whether this newsgroup still existed, and
whether any of John's friends still posted to this group. I hadn't
been on a news group since John's death and didn't know how to find it.
Thankfully, Google had a link to newsgroups and I have been searching
for old John posts. Instead I found several posts from his friends
around the anniversaries of this death . It is very heartwarming for
me to know that people still think about John and repost some of his
more memorable posts. I want to thank everyone for this--it is
comforting that others keep him in their hearts and minds like me.

Anyway, are anyone of John's friends going to the Daytona 500 this
weekend? If so, would anyone want to meet up with my friends to toast
John (and maybe assist my friends with sprinkling John's ashes
somewhere that you think would be suitable at the race)?

Thanks Wayne and H.B. for your replies. Mission accomplished! My
friend who went to the Daytona 500 said John went as a cloud dust as
the cars left the start/finish line. John would have loved that, and I
can't thank my friends enough for getting so excited about such a
morbid task--they said it was fun (kind of...).

Glad to know John had good friedns "out there in cyberspace".
