I hate to say it, but we need more folks like Tony and Robby. Ones that
aren't always politically correct!

The more this younger generation is invading NASCAR, along with mergers, the
more I'm finding I'm pulling for Tony, and Yes even a Jeff Gordon. And this
is coming from a Petty/Jr. fan!

Another apologist.
Another moron who has no comprehension of the rules or the history of
the sport he follows, and insists that everything that's done normally
is some how a conspiracy by the "man" at NASCAR to keep certain
drivers down.

Why don't you go make another slew of threads about how somebody got a
prediction wrong? Or go back to Chump Car/ gIRL--I'm sure everybody
JUST LOVES your insights there.

I for one hate Robby Gordon. Spun under yellow or not, he acted like a
six
year old whos mother refused to by him Ice Cream. He doesn't deserve to
even
drive a golf cart for NASCAR.

Why? Because he isn't a politically correct, corporate shill?
He qualifies regularly for the races, runs competitively in most of the
races, and has won two races so far in Cup. He drives for and owns a
single
car team, has missed a race this year, yet he remains in the top 35 in
points.
While I am not the biggest fan of RG, he certainly belong in Cup more
than
about a dozen or so other drivers who race regularly in the series do.

He is a good driver I won't deny that. Many drivers show their ass when
they
feel they have been wronged by the officials, he just took it to a new
level. Almost like a madman on the track. I lost the rest of what little
respect I had for him at that point.

Let me get this straight. RG doesn't belong based on the fact that he
occasionally acts like an ass hat? Well, you would have to disqualify nearly
half of the drivers in Cup based upon that line of reasoning. Stewart acts
like an idiot far more frequently than RG does... - Does he need to go as
well?
Talent is what gets drivers into Cup, and talent is what keeps them there.
Na$car isn't a debutante ball, it's a competition - if you are competitive,
you stay, if you aren't, you go.
You can like or dislike a driver based upon the integrity of his actions,
but you certainly can't disqualify him for it.

Half the drivers? That's pretty generous isn't it?

Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, June Yer, Hamlin, Harvick, Busches, Waltrip
(you pick 'em), Wallace (who cares which one).... About the only
drivers I can think of that hasn't had some kind of blow up are Ken
Shrader and maybe Mark Martin.

So using Empty Blood's criteria, where does that put the Allison boys,
Yarbough, Pearson, Foyt, any number of various sundry Andrettis... And
that gentleman and master of subtlty, Junior Johnson. I guess they need
to have an asterisk next to their name, right?
