You have to think more outside the traditional box. The chase actually
reintroduces some form of competition for the last 10 races ... it does not
taketh it away. This could well be a year that without the chase, Tony could
cruise to a championship with another 10 top 10's (i.e. mediocrity from here
on in would probably get Tony the championship - under the old system). But
with the chase, Tony will be forced to be competitive and top 10's won't cut
it.

There are some traditionalists in here who don't like the chase - but at
least their argument can be substantiated by the simple fact that from here
on in, Tony is potentially being screwed out of a championship. Your
arguments against just don't hold water.
