From Jayski.com: .......One of the main rule changes was to allow the first car not on the lead lap to regain a lap. Previously, the leader of the race would sometimes slow to allow one or two cars back on the lead lap. Under the new procedure, the first car not on the lead lap would automatically regain a lap, regardless of where the car was in relation to the leader........ That's just bullshit, allowing one car to automatically get back on the lead lap reguardless if theyre in front of the leader or not. I guess NA$CAR just can't stop giving free handouts. |

I guess they are a bunch of liars on the Happy Hour broadcast also... since they just reported the one car per caution getting a lap back. In this case the people who make up the NASCAR.COM website are not very accurate. They wrote that the field is frozen when the caution flag comes out. What they should have put was that the order is frozen, but one car gets a gift pass of the leader to get back on the lead lap. NASCAR just plain sucks these days anyhow. That is just about the worst rule I ever heard of. I guess it means on a road course where a lap is like two minutes long somebody is going to get what amounts to an entire free lap. What a joke of a sport. Since the cars have so much artificial parity why not just declare everybody the co-winner of everything? I protest this idea of giving one car a free lap each time a caution is thrown. At Talladega that could be 5 full miles! NASCAR needs to rethink that immediately. |
