Jones wrote: From http://jayski.com/cupnews.htm AJ, I've really had no problem with you except for the Mike Joy incident (thanks for that! <sigh>), but why do you spam this group with your Yahoo group? Why, do you post to this group with copied posts from your Yahoo group? We all know why, to help get new members. I crosspost to foster more insight and discussion; both here and there. You do not have to be a member of the Yahoo group to reply, continue the thread, here. How do you crosspost to Usenet and a Yahoo group? All I've seen, is you coping posts from your Yahoo group, posting them here, and then responding to them. To more groups than just the original, I post "my reply" to what someone else said "to me". I can post my reply to anywhere I want. They're MY replies. In fact, my newsreader will post to both usenet and email at the same time. Huh, go figure. I wonder why that is; why that is possible, an option. In this group, it can look like I'm replying to myself because you see only my half of multiple followups. That does not mean you cannot join in, reply to me in the thread here. You are very welcome to do so. All I'm trying to do is create discussion, get people involved, both here and in my email group. You should not have a problem with that. Why do you think you can tell people what to do in RASN and their own email group? Ya know what, Champ, none of this is any of your goddamn business. Comprende, Mr Busybody? You didn't answer the question. Again, how do you *crosspost* (your words) to Usenet AND a Yahoo group? I very clearly answered the question, and I'm not going to fight with your reading comprehension. You understand what crossposting is or don't. Whether you do is not my problem. |

Probably because they don't like their Yahoo! group messages being posted to Usenet. Seems to me if they wanted to post to Usenet, they could do it themselves. Is that what they signed up for? Frankly, I'm too lazy to check the group to see if there was any disclosure on that issue. I'm not able to read this group as much as I'd like, and mostly don't post, so I'm not up on what the "sides" are, but this behavior would sure help me pick one if I had to. It's outrageous and, I believe, in some places illegal as well. OUTRAGEOUS and ILLEGAL in SOME places. LOL, how interesting I am to so many. "Interesting" is not a word I would use to describe you. I did take a look at the group page and notice it's a private group. Members, therefore, would have an expectation that their messages would be available to the group members only. I see no notice to potential members that you will be posting their group messages on Usenet. Not to mention the fact that you're posting their email addresses for spammers to harvest. So, I wouldn't describe you as a "great-all-around-nice-guy," either. "Stupid" came to mind, but you know exactly what you're doing. You just don't care. You might want to, however, take a peek at Yahoo!'s terms of service, privacy and acceptable use policies. It would really be too bad if your group was shut-down for violating those. Do you often spend your spare time with people who are not interesting? You're very involved in my business for not being interested. You seem to be very concerned with the details of my life. Indeed, you have a lot to say; a lot to tell me. I find that interesting. Oh bullshit. She said she wouldn't use the term "interesting" to describe you. That doesn't mean you aren't interesting, it just means that isn't one of your strong points. Maybe I should post some links to some of your more classic threads, like the Ironhead tribute thread. Maybe that would help her find the proper adjectives to descrbe you, eh? |
