Default Robby Gordon in 06 - 03-01-2006 , 05:30 PM

What's up with Robby Gordon this year? I mean he had a great finish at Daytona
(13th I think) and finished at California only a couple of laps down. And he
now sits in 17th over all points. Usually at this point in the season he has
already wrecked himself (and others) several times and is living in the points
cellar. I was amazed when he didn't cause the 'big one' at Daytona this
year. Maybe he's matured some this year, I certainly hope so for everyones
sake. And it would be good to see some single car teams do well this year. But
it's hard to believe that Robby will be able to hold it all together and not
come unglued as in previous years. Time will tell.

The only safe place for El Wootardo is the killfile. "Anything else

I agree, as my many rants in RASN can attest to, that Robby has been a danger
on the track for many years. I long ago lost count of how many times he wadded
up the Cingular car, but maybe now he's sippin some Jack and chillin. He's off
to his best start that I can remember. But maybe a skunk will always stink,
we'll just have to wait and see. I certainly wouldn't bet anything on him.

I'll give the pat reply with I'd like to see a small team do well, but his
talents are more off nascar road imo, he's not a bad dirt driver if his
gear holds. He's scary with a fast nascar ride.

This year he has RCR powerplants so HP and reliability shouldn't be a
concern.
He just has to worry about keeping his fenders clean now.

If he's sippin' Jack, then he better do it in private. He's sponsored by Jim
Beam.

Robbie has a lot of raw talent. Problem is, it's still raw. He lets his
emotions override his miniscule common sense far too often. He really needs
to improve his maturity.
