My scanner and headphones were lost in Hurricane Katrina. I'm saddling up
to go to Bristol in March and August and need a new scanner and
noise-canceling headphones.
I'm looking at the Bearcat SC230; the scanner lost in the hurricane was a
Radio Shack PRO-89 or something like that and my headset was a Radio Shack
noise canceling headset.
I'd like for the scanner to come pre-programmed if possible and it needs
to be computer programmable so I can load a lot of frequencies into it
from my computer.
How about some scanner and dealer recommendations?

Moss Communications in Tampa FL. Unden Scanners (reseller?)
You can use your favorite search engine like I did awhile ago for more, but
I found a lot of sites were dead links now.
I've always preferred Radio Shack Scanners over Uniden.
GRE of Japan made Radio Shacks Top End scanners in the old days, no more
today.
Now the scanners are just rebadged Uniden Chinese junk IMO. The top of the
line RS scanner looks sexy, but $500.00?
