Agreed that Hamlin should have slowed and not assumed the wreck would
slide down the track...but he certainly wasn't the last one to make that
same mistake & plow into the cars, I recall 2 or 3 other cars doing the
same thing, after Hamlin.

So, why is Hamlin singled out as being the idiot? Probably because of
the interview post wreck, which only proved to me that Denny needs his
bullshitting skills honed up. Or, if he is unable to do so, then he
might as well just be honest in those interviews when asked and just
admit that he assumed the wreck would slide - I don't believe for one
minute that Denny was on the brakes immediately as he claimed. But, then
again, neither were the cars behind him.

Denny is a good driver. He's still got some to learn, though. The
problem is, IMO, he's seemed to let some of his early success go to his
head as well as trying to keep up too much with the other 2 assholes on
his team in both racing & their fuckwit antics.

I think Hamlin would be better off away from such bad influences. #18 &
#20 may be great drivers, but the other nonsense that goes with them
makes each intolerable.

Could be, but I'll bet the main reasons are that he was the one
who most obviously came barrelling in without even hinting at
slowing down, and then the announcers making a big deal of it
afterwards.

Incidently, I'm not sure that anyone else just rammed right into
the wreck like Hamlin did. Elliot came in pretty fast, but it
looked like someone had spun him. The other late comers had at
least somewhat slowed.
