The banking is supposed to make the crashing cars slide down the
track, leaving the top line open. Doesn't always work, though.

Crashing cars, wrecked cars, debris, hot dog wrappers, whatever.
It's all susposed to slide down into the infield, and out of the
way of race cars.

Unfortunately at Dover they had a minor miscalculation, and forgot
that the inside wall was in the way. So the track doesn't really
self clean, it just moves the mess down into everyone's way.

(you rarely hear anywhere other than Dover referred to as "self
cleaning", because most tracks don't have as much banking in the
straights as Dover).

John

Hamlin's IQ is the number on the side of his car.

Which one or which ones?

Both ones. Assuming a base-10 number system... 1 in the tens position
and 1 in the ones position. 11. We could use a binary number system,
but that would give him the IQ of a brick. Close, but not quite that low.

Bristol doesn't actually have any straights. The driver has the
wheel turned all way round :-)

(actually, it's a good question, tho - you rarely hear someone
say Bristol is self-cleaning, altho it's certainly got the right
shape for it).
