Tony is racin, moses. Maybe you should watch some tape of DW racin....
Again. What does DWs driving record have to do with Tony wrecking
people? It doesn't matter if DW wrecked the entire field 20 times
over...that doesn't mean that Tony should get away with being in a wreck
EVERY race.

I suppose you think that the announcers should just sit there and say
nothing, as if no one noticed the wreck that Tony caused.

I don't think he should be sat down, but maybe they should put him on
probation or something.

oh please. if they are going to put him on probation, they may as well do
nothing. he was on probation in 2002 for assaulting people, and after
assaulting a cameraman on pit road at Homestead, NASCAR turned a blind eye.
probation is a joke.

Tony certainly could have been more diplomatic,
but if you go back several weeks, EVERY time you saw
DW, he had to mention "the common denominator", to the
point where you'd think he was trying to create a new
catch phrase. He made it a point to repeat himself
over and over.
DW has an advantage. He's on TV for hours.
Tony has but a few seconds of airtime in comparison.
After hearing the same shit over and over, and given
the temperment of Stewart, it certainly should not have
come as a surprise that he responded, and less of a surprise
that it would be non complimentary..
I think enough was enough.
Obviously Tony thought the same way..

That might be a good idea, but DW might get his head all messed up where he
won't be on television since he thinks himself as one of the handsome
announcers. Yes, DW think he is good looking to be in front of the camera.

Just couldn't resist throwing in a dig on Tony about Indy.

Tony made it personal. I don't think Darrell's going to let up any
time soon. I don't necessarily think it's right, I think he should
let it be. But Tony did make it personal.

Who started it?

commentator: n. A broadcaster or writer who reports and analyzes
events
in
the news

driver: n. the operator of a motor vehicle

IOW, Darrell didn't start anything by reporting and *analyzing* events
at
the track ~ that is his job. Darrell saying that NASCAR should consider
sitting Tony out for a race was no more a personal attack on Tony than
it
was Larry MacReynolds said that McMurray should sit out a race for his
actions at Bristol. You didn't see Jamie launch a series of personal
attacks on MacReynolds for that. Darrell and Larry are paid to offer
their
opinions, Tony and Jamie are paid to race cars... at least Jamie
understands
that.

Perhaps if there's a rain delay FOX could get TS and DW each a pair of
boxing gloves and film that for us. I guess there's points on both sides
so
I say let them wail on each other. Glove or verbal exchange doesn't
matter
it's quite comical as far as I'm concerned....I can't take either one of
them seriously.

DW tried to put the common denominator of Rusty a week later. I think DW is
trying to get drivers mad at him, or stir up trouble among them with his
mouth. Like tonight with the Biffle comment on trying to pay back Busch.

Odd isn't it? That DW's favorite catch phrase is "common denominator" these
days? I wonder how DW was in math? Does the term "lowest common
denominator" ring a bell with him? It should cause it's him!

Well, seeing as how I don't think Darrell was driving the Home Depot
Chevy and wrecking someone EVERY WEEK, I think Tony started it.

LOL If you're going there then go back a bit further when DW was well known
as a dirty driver. Not only did he start driving that way before Tony was
in short pants, he's now a friggin hypocrite for criticzing someone else.

Fine. Then, since "dirty driving" is the topic, Tony can comment about DW's
driving reputation. Harping on DW's
provisionals, jeez, he should have just said DWs mom wears army boots and his
dog is ugly. Pretty sissy, the way it was.

I agree with you there. My point is DW is a hypocrite for criticizing
others for something he did in spades. I don't necessarily defend what
Stewart says or does. For instance I think Tony is being hypocritical too
for acting all offended now after saying the things he did about Andretti
earlier in the year.
