he's pretty crude, so I don't think he'll get much further in the hunt.

I do wonder why Roush makes such a big deal out of his "gong show" and
the other owners don't. Or maybe they do, and they just don't have
Discovery Channel backing.

Maybe the other owner's *should* make a big deal out of it. Roush had *five*
cars in the chase last year. He must be doing *something* right the others
aren't.

Everybody knows Roush is cheating - they just haven't discovered how,
yet.

When they score the applicants, they
count everything, including speed and line on the track, and whether
the drivers know what adjustments to call for - they use Awesome Bill's
speeds as a benchmark, at least in the last couple of episodes.

The show I saw had the trucks at Darlington, and the benchmark speed was Ricky
Craven's. Wonder how they set that benchmark, why and when?

I believe the benchmarks are set just prior to the kids' competition.
That would make the most sense, so track conditions are the same for
both benchmark and test laps.

They all cheat. Jack just cheats better.

In 2005, anyway - the owners kind of leapfrog with their cheating
successes. LOL. Maybe it will be Evernham's turn in 2006. He needs
some help.

Cheating? Well, that certainly makes me want to watch a corrupt sport.

Paul, u fergot a smilyface. But if u really think that the word 'corrupt'
applies to NA$CAr-racin', u should follow NFL & MLB players to apply
corrupt more correctly. Nancy is correct however in her assessment that
Roush in '05 found something that the other teams & NA$CAr didn't discover.
Maybe that's what got his Gong Show on The Discovery Channel?

That makes sense, but why Craven? Is he working for Roush now?

He was in 2005, but not now.
