It looks funny to see twelve drivers so close in the points. It is like it
is anybody's Championship to win now. Maybe that was the idea all along.
Better minds than mine figured out that system.

I still think the old system was more fair.

It's a 10-race championship now. Ask yourself,
why 10 races?
why not 5?
why don't they reset the points again after the next 5?

They are catering to the NEW nascar fans who don't
understand or appreciate how difficult it is to be
a true season champion.

If it were 5,
people would wonder why not 10...

It's no easier to be champion today, than any other time.
If it was easy, the 48 wouldn't have 3 in a row.
No matter how you slice it.. 40-50 guys try,
and at the end of the year, there is only one at the top.
It's harder now, than when there were only 3 guys
running the whole season.. (imo)
..
And as for catering to the new fan,
that's one (of many!) problems of getting old....
I liked Gunsmoke, Rifleman, Maverick, Paladin..
a lot better than today's battle of the network skanks.
Fat chance I'll ever see a good Western again in my lifetime..
You gotta deal with it.

Did you see Appaloosa?

-Rick

I meant on tv...
Did not see Appaloosa...
I have seen some good ones on the big screen
since those tv shows were ancient history.
Or at least good enough to satisfy the memories!
Unforgiven, Crossfire Trail, Open Range, even 3:10 to Yuma was acceptable..
