They can't be much worse than what he has had.

Yeah, you got a point there.

Maybe if he were a better driver....or able to properly communicate with
that hillbilly cousin of a crew chief.

Statement from Teresa Earnhardt/DEI: In response to today's announcement by Dale
Earnhardt, Jr., that he will be leaving DEI, Teresa Earnhardt, CEO of Dale
Earnhardt, Inc. issued the following statement. "While we are very disappointed
that Dale Jr. has chosen to leave the family business, we remain excited about our
company's future. Our aggressive expansion and diversification plans have not
changed. This company has continued to thrive since Dale left us in 2001, and it
will thrive following today's announcement. Dale and I built this company to be a
championship-contender, and those principles still apply. Dale Earnhardt, Inc.
will win, and we have other extremely talented drivers and hundreds of employees
that are dedicated to the programs we founded. This company has a great legacy and
a bright future, built on loyalty, integrity, and commitment."(DEI)

Anyone else think those last three words were a direct, snide comment from Teresa?

naw...not really Tom. I think there IS loyalty, integrity and
commitment at DEI. It was Dale Jr. and his lazy slacker siblings who
thought they could play it up in the media and wrest control of DEI
from Teresa.

I don't know if Teresa was born at night, but she SURELY was not born
last night. She did the right thing. Send them wayward kids packing
- time for them to find their own gigs, just like Dale Sr. did.

It was left to Teresa - lock, stock and barrel. Any other questions?

Well, Dale Jr. trashed DEI today. He also trashed the employees. Some
are pretty upset with him. I don't blame them. I think he's an idiot .- Hide quoted text -

How did he trash anyone at DEI? I didn't hear that in a simple
statement that he's leaving. I do agree that the last three words
were uncalled-for. If Teresa wanted to take the high road in the
negotations to date, she should have been a little more willing to
talk about those negotiations before it got to this point. There's no
way she won't be blamed for Junior leaving, even if it isn't her
fault. By staying pretty silent up to now, she has let outsiders make
up their own minds about which party was unreasonably intractable.

N.
Nancy, again you show why you are busy in the kitchen cookin' the
vittles while your man and his buddies are watchin' the racin'. Dale
Jr. and his siblings were VERY insolent through all of this. It
didn't take him making sugar coated statements as the door opens for
him to leave to "make things right". Things had gotten far astray
from "making right" WAY before that honey....
