Why is there a limit on the number of tires a team can use in a weekend? What business is it of NASCAR's if a team wants to bring their car in every lap for new tires? Don't worry, I am not going to comment. Just curious. -- Paul of El Cajon |

I believe I read that a set of four is around $1650.00. |

The Cup Series only has a limit on the number of tires that teams can use during practice unless they have changed it this year. This is not a new rule. The Busch and the Truck Series have a limit of the number of tires that the teams can use during the race-it's a cost saving measure and it actually is a cost saving measure. If the Cup backed teams with money were to put new tires on every time they came in, the teams without money would be forced to in order to compete. |
