Default Toyota in Nascar - 02-18-2006 , 12:13 PM

I am new here, but I was just wandering what everyone thought about
Toyota joining Nascar.

It's a pretty logo. Perhaps it can replace Ford.

More likely to replace Dodge.

Hendrick, DEI, & RCR are loyal to the bowtie

Yates, Roush, & Wood Bros. are loyal to blue ovals (its actually an ellipse,
FYI)

About the only Dodge team with any loyalty is Evernham because Dodge pays
his bills, although Petty would likely stick with Dodge unless Toyota really
pursues them to get BLab (former champ) in their corner.

Penske & Ganassi have no brand loyalty. Either or both of them could switch
at the drop of a hat.

BDR is already headed to Toyota.

I love it and I'm hoping all the other foreign manufacturers want to sponsor
cup cars in the near future, the more sponsorship money the better. Hopefully
Nissan, Hyundai, Daihatsu, KIA, Puegot, Renault and Tribanti will all get in
on the action. I mean, after all, does it matter what manufacturers logo is
pasted on the front and back of the NASCAR template cars? Only the original
NASCAR fans (ie: those that lack dental hygiene and have no teeth) actually
believe that a cup car called 'Monte Carlo' is the car they can buy in the
showroom. And while we are at it, bring on the new auto builders from China
too.

I agree 100%.The common template, make that cookie cutter, was a way that
NASCAR could get Toyota et el to bring some big $'s to the already bulging
pockets of the France Family.
I am an old school NASCAR fan and don't much like restrictor plates, 1 1/2
mile tracks and women in the pits.
Well maybe just the hot ones are OK.

I said Ferd. I did not blaspheme by saying Dodge.

Oh, stop. DaimlerChrysler is the best. After the MB comes the Beemer,
followed by Porshe. Audi and VW aren't even cars. They are more like
Tauruses with less options. And Mercur - YUCH!
