Default Vickers Wheel - 05-26-2008 , 09:11 PM

I only got a small look at it on highlights, did it look like the
wheel just came loose from the lugs, almost as if some of the lugs may
not have been on tight?

I think it was DW (Dim Wit) that said it could have been the lugs or lug
nuts, but it might have been from an earlier stop. Something like if
the lugs were loose earlier they might have had their threads damaged by
a loose wheel. Once damaged the threads might not have held on
subsequent stops. Then the wheel would start vibrating and the weakened
lugs and / or lug nuts would fail.

I'm not speculating one way or the other. Just trying to recall his
explanation.

DW said about 6 times that he was positive that the center of the wheel
broke out.

Then they showed the wheel up close, complete with the center intact. So
much for DW's brilliant insight. So yeah, the lugs were left loose and just
worked the rest of the way off.

That was Goodyear's new Tigger Tire - rouncy, pouncy, bouncy. It was
a good thing nobody was hurt at the camper site.
