Default Waltrip = 35th in points? - 02-26-2006 , 10:08 AM

WTF is Herm talking about? He was walking around the garage, talking about
how Mikey is 35th in the points - and how that's where everyone wants to be,
so they can be locked in for qualifying. Exsqueeze me? Baking power?

35th?

Not neccesarily 35th, but in the top 35 to be locked in.

He's already been named to race a Toyota next year. Way to go, 2 time
winner Mikey. I guess you and DW think this is the way to increase your fan
base?

He isn't even pretending to pimp Dodge - pre-race interview, he said
"The NAPA Chevy....what is it again?" Interviewer: "Dodge." Mikey:
"Did I tell you I bought a Camry?" Mikey, starting again: "The NAPA
car...."

Pretty transparent. I hope Toyota is paying him.

N.

Yeah he has went back to the same old outspoken but very average race car
driver.
If he could only drive as good as he talks he would run in the top ten.

I was looking forward to this season so I could see Mickey run in the back
AGAIN.

Hey you might not like him but he is still a good driver that goes out
to race every week in more than one division. That is not just luck.
Even if you do not like him, he is a good businessman.

It's really kind of hard to consider Michael Waltrip a good driver. His
record just doesn't bear that statement out. Racing in the minor league
divisions isn't much of a statement of a driver's ability either. Actually
some might suggest quite the opposite. He may well be a good businessman
(that's unproven at this point), but racing is about driving cars, not
business acumen.

That's the point - when compared to the average joe, he's a better driver,
but when compared to other competitors, he's not a great driver. What does
it matter if he's a better driver than me? I don't race him on weekends.

He'll move up in points once the TuRDs (Toyota Racing Division) move on in.
They're clearly dominanting trucks right now. Their trucks all finish in
the top-15 each week, unless they're involved in a wreck.
