Default Waltrip - 07-28-2009 , 07:05 PM

I thought Michael Waltrip was retiring from driving and was focusing his
effort on losing as an owner instead? Is he going to continue to present a
hazard until the end of the season or will we get relief before then?

I am a Huge Fan of Michael Waltrip but sadly it is time for him to
retire the pressures
of being a owner has definitely taken its toll on him besides the fact
that apparently Buffy has flown the coop. MW had the best shot of
finishing a season in the top 10 in 2003 but Teresa did a Crew Chief
swap between MW and DE jr and both there seasons went belly up. Oh by
the way MW was in the top 10 at this time of the season in 2003 and he
had that streak of finishing in the top 10 for about 10-12 races. So
anybody who says he was a no talent driver is crazy. But it looks like
he is pretty much done as a driver at this point.

He is supposed to finish the year, then run a few next year.
Definitely the Daytona 500

Our big worry is that Mikey might one day be an announcer for the
Cup Series. It is bad enough when he does the Trucks.

There - I've fixed yet another post for you people that do not know how to
set up a newsreader. Sorry - very frustrating.

Too bad to hear that you are a huge fan of Mouth Waltrip. But, everyone
needs a fan. As for being an owner taking a toll on him - where have you
been? He had a couple of good years while driving for DEI and they had an
edge on everyone else. For 400 races prior to that he was exactly what you
see today. He was and he is a crap driver.

He never had a chance at a top 10 in 2003. His best shot at it only means
he didn't wreck every single race. He had no shot at a top 10. Oh yeah -
he has always been a no talent driver.

I'm afraid one season 6 years ago where you got into the top 10 for a short
period of time doesn't qualify a driver as 'talented' - lucky or great pit
crew come to mind as more likely. Mikey has always been a hazard on the
track. He should stick with making NAPA commercials which he's really good
at.
